Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved with the Canadian Myeloma Research Group (CMRG) and support better care for people living with multiple myeloma. Whether you are a patient, caregiver, clinician, researcher, or supporter, your participation helps strengthen a national research network dedicated to improving outcomes across Canada.

Some of the ways you can help include taking part in research, sharing your experience through our Patient Partnership Committee, contributing to or leading clinical studies, supporting our national database, or getting involved through advocacy, fundraising, and community outreach.

Some of the ways you can help are:

  • Donate to CMRG to support critical myeloma research that improves patient care across Canada
  • Fundraise locally to support CMRG research at your hospital or in your community
  • Participate in CMRG research, including clinical trials and the national patient database
  • Volunteer with the Patient Partnership Committee if you are a myeloma patient, caregiver, or community leader and want to help shape research priorities

Your involvement—whether through time, experience, or financial support—helps drive better treatments and better outcomes for people living with multiple myeloma.

If you would like to volunteer on CMRG fundraising initiatives, please contact CMRG.

Join the CMRG Patient Partnership Committee

CMRG is inviting patients and caregivers to become part of our Patient Partnership Committee—a group that helps shape how myeloma research is designed, delivered, and communicated across Canada.

Members of this committee provide valuable input on:

  • Research priorities
  • Clinical trial design and patient experience
  • Education, communications, and outreach
  • How CMRG can better serve people living with myeloma

No research background is required—only a willingness to share your experience and perspective.

By joining, you will help ensure that the patient voice remains at the centre of CMRG’s work and that research reflects what truly matters to people affected by multiple myeloma.

Who can apply?

People living with myeloma, caregivers, and patient advocates from across Canada who are community leaders.

Together, we can make myeloma research more patient-centred, meaningful, and impactful.

Call for Volunteers – CMRG Annual Gala (Toronto)

We are inviting members of the myeloma community, caregivers, supporters, and community leaders to volunteer for the upcoming CMRG Annual Gala in Toronto. This special evening brings together patients, clinicians, donors, and partners to support myeloma research across Canada.

Volunteers will help with event support, guest engagement, registration, and on-site coordination. It’s a meaningful way to contribute to the myeloma community, meet others who share your commitment, and support critical research.

If you would like to get involved, please stay tuned for posted volunteer opportunities.
